We are enjoying a wonderful time with family for the Thanksgiving holiday!
"Be thankful for what you have, instead of pondering what you don't". This is the key to contentment.
We have one bathroom in our home, WITH A PRETEEN DAUGHTER. Thank you, Lord, that we have a bathroom inside to use because I know that many do not. Thank you for the moments when we are all crammed inside at once because I know one day I will miss this closeness. Thank you for teaching us that we have much.
This home we are living in is temporary, but it has taught us much about thankfulness. It is so easy to fall into the trap of wanting more. It is also easy to fall into the trap of being too busy to STOP and take the time to be thankful.
My prayer this Thanksgiving is to reflect on our blessings more. To turn complaining into thanksgiving and wanting into contentment.
Colossians 2:6-7 says, "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strenghtened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
May we OVERFLOW with thankfulness this holiday season and beyond.
